Staging can make a huge difference. You'll generally get better photos in the end if you help stage the house prior to the photo shoot. On-location time counts whether it's staging or shooting photos.
I think the best advise is really a question: What do you see when you first walk into a hotel room?
- Everything in it's place
- Maybe a pad of paper and a pencil
- No clutter
What about the bathroom in that hotel room? Might be best to think about what you don't see:
- Someone elses toothbrush, razor, hair brush...
- An bar of soap that might have been used
- No personal items like that at all
Hmm... Less is More.
Keep it simple, think about that hotel room and de-clutter!
